Noisy Pop Music

Creator: Rick Barrett
Date: Early 80's

Made in the early 1980's by Rick Barrett, budding media magnate, "Noisy Pop Music" was one of a set of six mix tapes made for playing in the car cassette player.

Comprising of a wide range of 70s and 80s alternative music, the set of six tapes documented the growth of electronic and New Wave music that, with Punk, swept away the post-disco West Coast soft-rock that permeated the airways. Made before the widespread availability of CDs, the humble cassette tape was the perfect vehicle for making music portable. "Noisy Pop Music", the most commercial of the set, was the least played and therefore, the only one still intact some 25 years later.
