Sometimes when you're making friends with somebody you do things to advance the friendship, to deepen it, to go from seeing them out at night to seeing them out during the day to dropping in on them at home unannounced and watching boring TV all day. I received this tape some time during 2004 in response to a tape I'd made with that mission in mind. It seemed to work; she indulged my kitschy gesture and reciprocated when she could've just as easily have thrown it and all my hokey ceremony in the bin. So, that was nice, but also this tape made me like Wilco, the Sleepy Jackson, Cursive and Sinatra. It didn't really make me like Jet though.
